2021 LRF Golf Invitational
Monday, May 24, 2021
Quaker Ridge Golf Club
146 Griffen Avenue
Scarsdale, NY 10583
The Lymphoma Research Foundation will be hosting its Golf Invitational on May 24, 2021, at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, New York. Golfers will be able to test their skills at one of the genuine golfing treasures of metropolitan New York. The course, highly regarded on both national and international levels, is rated #39 in the United States by Golf Magazine in its 2020-2021 Rankings. Quaker Ridge has hosted three Met Opens, three Met Amateurs, and three Met PGA Championships. In addition, in 2018, upon hosting the Curtis Cup, it became only the second course to host two of the most prestigious USGA International Amateur Championship matches – the Walker Cup (1997) and the Curtis Cup.
Our 2021 Golf Invitational will take place under the cloud of Covid-19 (but, hopefully under the bright sunshine of a cloudless day!) and, therefore, we want to share the protocols that we will be implementing to ensure all participants can stay safe while still having a great day of golf. Those protocols address mask-wearing and are the same practices that Quaker Ridge employed at the end of the 2020 season, which allowed both members and guests to stay safe and have fun. Please take time to read below, as we feel they should address any Covid-related concerns you may have.
As you arrive on May 24th, a station will be set up so that while still in your vehicle, registration will be taken, your golf bag dropped off so that QR staff can place it onto your golf cart, and your LRF gift bags placed into your car. As part of our gift package, we have set up a website for you to select from a variety of apparel choices. Those selection details will be communicated after registering for the outing. The locker rooms and driving range will be open, however, Covid restrictions have made it impossible to offer our usual extensive pre-golf buffet. Instead, a barbeque lunch will be served at 2 locations on the course from 11:30 – 2:30 pm and several mini bar, beverage, and snack stations will be located at several locations on the course as well.
The event will kick off with an 11:30 am Shotgun start. Guests will be offered two carts per foursome with caddies driving carts and golfers walking. Please contact us if you will not be walking and need a golf cart of your own.
At the end of the round, a Golf Pro will be stationed at the Pro Shop to take and post scores. After golf, a bar and refreshments will be available. We are hoping, however, within COVID mandates, to be able to offer a more extensive cocktail session along with an awards ceremony.
We look forward to your support and, in return, spending an enjoyable day on this exceptional golf course. If you have any questions about the event or would like to register, please click the links on the right of this page or reach out to Rebecca Rausch, Senior Manager of Distinguished Events at firstname.lastname@example.org or 917-882-9036.
Mask Wearing at the LRF Golf Invitational – May 24, 2021
For the health and safety of all guests and staff members, we have outlined the following face mask procedures to be in place:
• From the moment a member or guest leaves his/her vehicle, masks are required to be worn at all times on Quaker Ridge’s grounds.
• To be specific, this includes the Locker Rooms, the Driving Range, the Pro Shop (which will be open for purchases), whenever in contact with any staff member, and when simply walking around the grounds.
• Players’ Golf Course Exception – The only exception to this is while on the golf course, where it will be your choice whether or not to wear the mask while playing with your group.
• Caddies – Caddies will, at all times, be wearing their masks. They will rake bunkers, read putts and tell you distances from the flag on each shot but will not touch or hand you your clubs unless you give them permission to do so.
After Golf – Once finished with your round, please remember to don your mask once again.
