International T-Cell Lymphomas Consortium
T-cell lymphomas are rare and often aggressive blood cancers that remain among the most challenging forms of lymphoma to diagnose and treat. Compared with more common lymphoma subtypes, T-cell lymphomas have historically received less research funding and drug development, resulting in fewer approved therapies and limited treatment options for patients. Recognizing the need for greater focus and collaboration, the Lymphoma Research Foundation launched the International T-cell Lymphomas Consortium, a new global research initiative designed to unite experts across disciplines to advance the study of T-cell lymphomas and improve treatments and outcomes for patients.
The International T-cell Lymphomas Consortium brings together laboratory, translational, and clinical researchers around a shared goal of breaking down barriers that have slowed progress in T-cell lymphoma research. The Consortium’s work focuses on three major areas: strengthening research infrastructure, improving clinical research, and supporting greater collaboration across the field. Through this coordinated effort, the Consortium aims to create a sustained framework for addressing critical research challenges and accelerating progress for patients.
The initiative builds on the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s inaugural T-Cell Lymphomas International Scientific Workshop, held in New York City in March 2025. The workshop convened leading physicians, scientists, and patient advocates to identify persistent challenges in T-cell lymphoma research and develop a roadmap for addressing them. The International T-cell Lymphomas Consortium will provide the structure needed to advance this work, building on the momentum and priorities established during the workshop.
Initial Consortium activities will include projects focused on classification criteria and standard operating procedures for pathologic review of T-cell lymphomas; translational science; and clinical research and trials. The Consortium will also establish the T-cell Lymphoma Hub, an open forum designed to foster ongoing discussion and collaboration across the broader T-cell lymphoma community. Together, these efforts will support a more coordinated and collaborative approach to addressing unmet needs and advancing research in rare and aggressive T-cell lymphomas.
