Lymphoma Research Foundation Raises Over $1 Million at New York City Gala to Help Eradicate Lymphoma

October 12, 2022 – The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives, and patient services – raised $1,085,000 for lymphoma research and support at their 2022 LRF Annual Gala on Thursday, September 29 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.

Chaired by Madhvi and Ramesh Subrahmanian, this year’s event bestowed the Distinguished Leadership Award to Dr. Steven M. Horwitz, MD, medical oncologist and T-cell lymphoma pioneer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and long-term member of LRF’s Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) received the Corporate Leadership Award. The event marked the first in-person LRF Gala since 2019 and featured a video address by Academy Award winning actor and lymphoma survivor Jeff Bridges.   

The Annual Gala took place at the end of Blood Cancer Awareness Month (September), celebrating the latest advancements made in lymphoma research, patient care and the dedicated individuals and institutions who help make this possible. Bringing together members of LRF’s Scientific Advisory Board and Board of Directors, representatives from oncology industry partners, healthcare providers, patients, caregivers, advocates and supporters from around the country, the event celebrated the life-changing innovations and breakthroughs of the past year.

It is a great honor – not only for myself – but for my colleagues, and the entire clinical and research team that is dedicated to finding better treatments for people with these rare lymphomas,” said Dr. Steven M. Horwitz, MD, medical oncologist, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
