Letters to the United States Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Appropriations

The Lymphoma Research Foundation strongly encourages members of Congress to increase funding for the critical and highly successful Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) at the Department of Defense (DoD), as well as restore the $859 million in fiscal year 2025 funding that was cut from this program.

While the CDMRP funds research to protect the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces, as well as military families, veterans, and civilian populations, many of its programs directly relate to public health threats and response to global pandemics. Its programs also focus their research on issues vital to warfighter health, including cancers such as lymphoma.

To that end, the Foundation, along with 156 other peer organizations in the healthcare sector, have sent letters to the House of Representatives and the Senate Committees on Appropriations sharing just how crucial these programs are and encouraging committee members to ensure they are fully funded as they begin work on the 2026 Defense Appropriations Act.

These letters, along with supplemental research sharing how relevant defense health research programs are to national security and military families, can be found here.
