Lymphoma Research Foundation Elects Paul Majkowski to Board of Directors

The Lymphoma Research Foundation – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives, and patient services – today announced the election of Paul Majkowski of Albertson, NY, to its Board of Directors.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Board of Directors is comprised of business leaders, medical professionals, and Foundation supporters from across the world who utilize their skills and expertise to further the Foundation’s mission. Foundation Directors are responsible for supporting the mission and activities of the Lymphoma Research Foundation, establishing policies and programmatic goals, and monitoring the organization’s finances.

A lymphoma survivor and passionate advocate, Paul brings both personal insight and professional experience to his new role. A seasoned litigator with Rivkin Radler LLP, Paul’s practice includes the toxic tort and product liability fields, encompassing issues and work in the areas of epidemiology, medical causation, and other scientific disciplines, and he has handled matters in international venues, including France, Korea, New Zealand, and Canada. Paul is a former Editor in Chief of the St. John’s Law Review; has been a frequent contributor to publications and presentations sponsored by the American Bar Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, and US-Korea Law Foundation; and is a pro bono volunteer with the Cancer Advocacy Project of the New York City Bar Association.

“Paul’s deep understanding of the patient experience, combined with his distinguished legal career and commitment to advocacy, make him an invaluable addition to our Board,” said Steven Eichberg, Chair of the Lymphoma Research Foundation Board of Directors. “His unique perspective will help drive our efforts to accelerate lymphoma research and enhance patient support across the country.”

Beyond his legal work and leadership roles within numerous professional associations, Paul is extremely active in his local community. As a lymphoma survivor, he has remained committed to raising awareness and supporting the lymphoma community, drawing from his own journey to inspire and empower others. Paul has devoted much of his time to the Lymphoma Research Foundation since 2007. He is a past president of the Foundation’s New York City chapter and a co-founder of the Long Island chapter. He was the 2016 recipient of the Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award, and currently serves as a Foundation Ambassador. He also serves as an FDA Patient Representative through the Office of Special Health Issues and has sat on several panels of the FDA Oncologic Drug Advisory Committee.

“It’s a privilege to join the Lymphoma Research Foundation Board of Directors,” said Paul. “As a survivor, I know firsthand how critical the Foundation’s work is to advancing research and improving the lives of patients and families affected by lymphoma. I’m honored to contribute to this mission.”
