Lymphoma Research Foundation Raises Over $1.3 Million at New York City Gala to Help Eradicate Lymphoma
October 1, 2024 – The Lymphoma Research Foundation – the nation’s largest non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives, and patient services – raised more than $1.3M for lymphoma research and support at their 2024 Annual Gala on Thursday, September 25 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. In addition to the funds raised, the Foundation received a generous $500,000 gift from honoree Steven J. Prince, dedicated to supporting the Foundation’s Morton Coleman, MD Innovation Fund.
This year’s event bestowed the Distinguished Leadership Award to noted philanthropist and past Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and current Director Emeritus Steven “Steve” Prince. BeiGene received the Corporate Leadership Award in recognition of pursuing improved patient outcomes and supporting the Foundation’s research initiatives and educational programs.
“We are deeply honored to be recognized by the Lymphoma Research Foundation for our commitment to the lymphoma community,” said Shreya Jani, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs at BeiGene. “Our mission at BeiGene is to expand access to high quality therapies for patients around the world, and the Foundation is an invaluable partner in this effort through their research, advocacy and support services. We look forward to continuing our work together with the Lymphoma Research Foundation to advance groundbreaking science and bring more hope and better outcomes to patients impacted by lymphoma.”
The Annual Gala took place at the end of Blood Cancer Awareness Month (September), celebrating the latest advancements made in lymphoma research, patient care, and the dedicated individuals and institutions who help make this possible. Bringing together members of the Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board and Board of Directors, representatives from oncology industry partners, healthcare providers, patients, caregivers, advocates, and supporters from around the country, the event celebrated the life-changing innovations and breakthroughs of the past year.
“Being recognized at the Annual Gala is truly humbling, but the real celebration is for all the progress we’ve made together,” said Prince. “I am proud to be part of a community dedicated to helping patients, their families, and their care partners better understand their disease and the treatment options available. I look forward to seeing what the future of the Foundation and lymphoma research holds.”
“The Annual Gala is an incredible way to publicly honor our community and recognize the individuals who strive to improve the lives of those impacted by a lymphoma diagnosis,” said Meghan Gutierrez, Chief Executive Officer. “The funds raised at the Foundation’s Gala are critical to our lifesaving work, and we are grateful for the generosity of our supporters.”
