LRF Event COVID-19 Policy

LRF Event COVID-19 Policy

The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its employees, supporters, and constituents.  Some people with lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) remain vulnerable to COVID-19, as they can be immune compromised. To keep everyone as healthy and safe as possible, the Foundation has put the following policy in place for its non-patient education programs:

LRF encourages its event attendees and participants to be vaccinated for COVID-19. Currently, COVID-19 vaccination is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for everyone ages 6 months and older in the United States for the prevention of COVID-19. Proof of vaccination will not be required to attend the event unless your venue or city/county ordinance require this. LRF also encourages event attendees to use masks and hand sanitizer, both of which will be made available throughout the event.

LRF also requires that you do not attend any Foundation event if you either A) test positive for COVID-19 or are exposed to someone who subsequently tests positive for COVID-19 in the 10-day period before the event or B) are actively experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 on event day. These symptoms, as defined by the CDC, include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

This list does not include all possible symptoms. The CDC will continue to update this list and guidelines for quarantine and recovery as it learns more about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like cancer, heart or lung disease, or diabetes may be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. To review the most update to date information about federal COVID-19 guidance, visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/about-covid-19.html.

The health and safety of event attendees is LRF’s top priority. As such, LRF will continue to monitor the environment and, prior to the event, will share whether there are any additional details regarding health and safety requirements unique to this event.

Thank you in advance for helping keep each other safe and healthy while supporting the LRF mission.
